About Our Shipping Boxes
All wine and beer shippers are approved by Fedex and UPS for glass bottle shipments.
Our original and patented (US patents 5,730,289 and 5,967,320) wine, beer and spirits shipping boxes are UPS and FedEx tested and approved.
An independent, outside laboratory tests and certifies them to ensure that we supply consistent, reliable, durable and safe packaging materials.
The Spirited ShipperTM is manufactured in the US to meet and exceed the ISTA 3A standards required by UPS and FedEx.
The Spirited ShipperTM is tough: drop, crush, shake and exposure to humidity are just some of the tests performed.
ISTA, the International Safe Transit Association, has a fact sheet detailing all requirements and testing procedures at www.ista.org/forms/3Aoverview.pdf

We use only the very best materials available:
• All of the Spirited ShipperTM inserts protecting your bottles are made from extra strong ECT48 standard double-walled, fluted cardboard providing superior cushioning and crush and impact protection — making shipping as safe as possible.
• The outer cartons for our 6 to 12 bottle boxes and all magnums are made with the same extra-strong ECT48 cardboard as our inserts. The smaller 1 to 4 bottle outer cartons are made with very sturdy ECT44 cardboard, with our extra-strong ECT48 inserts inside.
• We are proud to produce what we believe to be the best wine, beer and spirits shipping boxes in the business - and our many repeat customers agree!
**** Important Notes on Cardboard Ratings****
When it comes to the strength ratings of boxes, the cardboard industry unfortunately has a couple of standards. After many years of only the Mullen Test which measures the bursting strength, the ECT (edge crush strength) was developed in the late 90's. The ECT or stacking strength is a more meaningful measure of how a box will perform in the field.
The Spirited Shipper Kraft boxes utilize the ECT ratings on all our cardboard boxes. Don't be fooled by high numbers like 200# Mullen ratings when comparing boxes as the ECT numbers are on a scale which doesn't actually indicate a specific burst strength in pounds. For instance, it is widely accepted that a 32ECT rating is similar strength to a 200# rating. A higher number in either system will provide better protection. We recommend and utilize 44ECT and 48ECT rated cardboard for shipping glass bottles of wine, alcohol or any other liquid.
